At Renuo we are professionals. Therefore, we are constantly working on ourselves. This working group provides the structure for improving our technical professionalism. It provides guidance for how we work and what quality standards we meet. This working group aims to ensure the professional growth of all Renuo engineers. Compared to others, this working group incorporates a high involvement and engagement with other employees.

A single person is responsible for this working group: the working group currently doesn’t have a Vice. Single responsibilities are constantly delegated to other people.

Responsibilities

Ensuring knowledge gain and -transfer within the company and its project teams.

Technological knowledge is expected to be shared among people at Renuo even if they work on different projects. Some examples of how this is done are Lightning Talks and Project Slides during the SCRUM meeting. Another important tool are the Beer Talks where people can give more in-depth presentations. It’s possible that the wg lead asks you to prepare presentations or lightning talks about topics you are currently working on. Everyone should push for that.

The preparation of Project slides and Lightning Talks is in the responsibility of single people. The Organization of the Beer Talks is on Josua Schmid.

Organizing educational material

Educational material can be ordered at any time. You can ask Alessandro to buy you a license, a subscription, a course or a book at any given time. If it’s work-related and at a reasonable price, you can always just buy it and hand-in the receipt.

Books are collected in the office. If you take a book, bring it back within a couple of weeks. If you have an active subscription and you don’t need it anymore, cancel it.

Defining code quality conventions and raising their awareness.

This is done mainly in our Applications Setup Guide

**Investment time and the amount of presentations evolving out of it.**

Investment time usage is tracked on a company level (it should stay within 10%) regularly.
