By default, you are member of some channels that are important to everyone.

The channel for general, important and company wide announcements. Mostly used from management.
Within #team, work-related information is shared. Compared to #general, it’s more short-term oriented.
Used for short, daily standup messages. Messages usually follow [Where] [What]; also used to inform when being sick.
Technical goss within the industry. All our alumni and alumnae are in here, too.
The place where events get announced or linked.
If you don’t know where to go or need help, feel free to ask. Beware that you ask everyone.
This channel is for ordering common, shared material or to mention if something got broken.
Downtime alerts get listed here. Webhooks to Uptimerobot and Heroku.
Random stuff. It may be a good idea to mute this channel so you’re not distracted too much.
Express gratitude for whatever you are thankful for. Positive vibes!
Each project has a dedicated channel. You usually join this channel when you collaborate in a project. It can be used for project-related discussions and we have Semaphore webhooks setup that inform you on deployments on develop and main branch.
The naming convention of those channels is: project-[project name]
Most working groups have their channels, too.
The naming convention of those channels is: wg-[working group]
