Introduction
Our company is an IT Company, we produce software and we need hardware. Decisions about the hardware we use and rely on are the most critical for us. The provider we decide to use, the laptops we have on our desks or the monitoring tools we use every day will influence the quality of the work of everyone and will have a huge impact on how our company is seen by our customers. Nevertheless these choices have a strategic importance and will vary the efficiency of our processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for:
- Providing state-of-the-art working technical material and software.
- Providing and documenting best practices and tools to organize processes which have technical requirements → see docs
- Ensuring consistency of above processes between teams.
- Evaluating external service providers in general.
- Reacting upon emergency outage of technical internal services (within business hours).
- Coordinating big effort changes with the management (e.g. switching from heroku to deploio).
- Giving a quick overview of current work in the company meeting
You are not responsible for:
- Setting up laptops for employees → employee
- Monitoring the applications → techlead
- Distributing emergency phones and organizing piquett for SLA customers.
- Reacting to emergencies within client projects.
- Ensuring expertise within the company → engineering
