In order that we can meet deadlines and indicate to clients when work will be done, we need to know our internal capacities. Thus, you are required to plan well, too. You have to announce holidays at least three months in advance and coordinate with your team.
As long as it works for your team and client’s deadlines, you can go on vacation also short-term.
Next to letting know your team, also make sure that your absence is visible to the rest:
You can take as much holidays as you want. Within your hourly wage, there are five weeks of paid holidays included. If you take less, it means that you will earn more this year. If you take more, it means that you take more time being unpaid.
If you are an intern, you are eligible to take exactly five weeks. Plan them together with your Götti at the start of your internship year.

… set a status on Slack
In order to enhance internal communication, it helps if you add a 🌴 icon to your Slack status and possibly mention until when you are off.
… organize your personal telephone number, if you have one
If you have a personal phone number from Renuo, it may be an idea to forward it to a colleague or to the general, Renuo phone number.
… inform clients if needed
If you regularly are in touch with some clients, it helps to let them know your absence so that they can plan as well. After all, they will appreciate if you think of them before going away, it makes them feel important.
The goal of taking a vacation is to detach. If you’re off, you’re off. We do not expect you to read or answer mails, Slack messages or answer on your Renuo phone number (if you have any). Actually, we are irritated if you do so.
You are welcome to disable mails on your smartphone or to deinstall Slack app if you have the habit to regularly open and check it.
We would call you only if really, really necessary (and after we have pulled every other possibility to solve a problem).
